There are two exciting events which we at the The Whitton Business Association are organising along our High Street in June. Firstly we are having a Jubilee Street Party on Monday 4 June, and the second is the start of a monthly Whitton High Street Market on Sunday 24 June. Read all about it in our events pages.

Proceeds from both events go towards the funding of the Whitton High Street Christmas lights which cost £9,500 per year. So, please come and join in the fun and support your High Street!

The Whitton Business Association (WBA) represents and supports the independent businesses in your High Street. It also provides advice and helps businesses to work together. For a list of businesses on the High Street and surrounds see ALL LISTINGS on the left hand side of this page.

Whitton High Street is a 1930’s traditional High Street with 110 shops and has retained its ‘High Street’ character of predominantly independent shops, cafes and restaurants. The origins of Whitton and the development of its High Street are described by Ed Smith in his History of Whitton published here.

The WBA and its members part fund and organise the two big annual community events in the High Street – Christmas Lights Switch On and St George’s Day Parade.

Recently the WBA, with support from Richmond Council and the Mayor’s Outer London Fund, has implemented a number of improvements to the High Street: the new lamp columns, shopfront improvements and the design and installation of two information boards at each end of the High Street.

Bridget Clements, who is employed by the WBA as Town Centre Manager, recently produced a newsletter explaining all the work going on in Whitton. Follow this link to read the newsletter.

There’s a lot happening in Whitton High Street so do come and check the website whenever you can – and why not get involved? See the About Us section to find out how.
